will be active from Tristan da Cunha Island starting 27 September 2012
for about 7 days as ZD9UW
They will be active on HF Bands not 160 or 6m
QSL via M0VFC , LOTW, OQRS They plan to take some QSL cards to the island
and anyone willing to donate $25 (up to a max of 100 donors) will receive a direct card mailed from Tristan Da Cunha for their first two QSOs

Socotra Island (IOTA AF-028; CQ Zone 37), Yemen
Socotra - is a small archipelago of four islands. It lies 240 kilometers east of Horn of Africa and 380 kilometers south of the Arabian Peninsula. The island recognized by the UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site and Environmental Heritage
Socotra is considered the jewel of biodiversity in the Arabian Sea. Isolation of Socotra archipelago and its fierce heat and drought have combined to create a unique and spectacular endemic flora. 37 percent of plant species on Socotra are found nowhere else on Earth. The entire flora of the Socotra Archipelago has been assessed for the IUCN Red List
Socotra is one of the most isolated landforms on Earth of continental origin.
Socotra is a part of Hadhramaut Governorate, Republic of Yemen.

Vi informo che dal mese di Maggio fino ad Ottobre 2012 sarò in servizio per la missione UNIFIL in Libano.
Trovandomi alloggiato in una base militare, cercherò di fare radio compatibilmente con gli impegni lavorativi. Sarò attivo in QRP con il call OD5/IV3XNF radio YAESU FT-817ND, antenna carolina windom 80 special (80-10 mt.) o una EFHW (forse canna da pesca), Notebook PC, prevarranno i modi CW e DIGI.
QSL via LOTW, eQSL e Diretta.

Being housed in a military base, will be doing radio compatible with work schedules. I will be active in QRP with the call OD5/IV3XNF - YAESU FT-817ND radio, antenna Carolina windom 80 special (80-10 m). Or EFHW (maybe fishing pole), Notebook PC, and CW modes DIGI prevail.
